Ok, it was surreal enough for Ace of Cakes to be filmed around here, but this is just too much…

Atomic Books is getting their own reality show.

On G4.

Here’s what they had to say about it.

We've been talking about this idea for a while with friends, We're totally excited that it's going to happen, so now's the time to officially announce it: Welcome to Atomicville.

In light of the success of shows like Ace of Cakes and L.A. Ink, we thought Atomic would make a good reality TV show, something that would focus on the stuff we carry (comics/zines/art toys/cds/dvds/etc.), with interviews with different artists and writers we bring to town, and on top of that, something that would follow the Atomic gang out into the nationally-breaking Baltimore music and arts scene.

So awhile back, through a mutal friend, we hooked up with an agent who put us in contact with a production company and the result will be 6 one hour long episodes of a show called Atomicville to air on G4 TV.

If the network likes the show (meaning people watch), they’ll order more episodes. We had initially wanted to call the show AtomicTV, but sadly certain people didn’t want us to use that name as it might be confused with a certain former cable access TV show.

Local culture…hitting TV…brain can’t comprehend…world…too small.

(Thanks to The Mobtown Shank for the heads up…)
