The Music Industry Is Dead
I know, it’s been said many times before, but now it’s never been more true.
It’s official, Apple’s iTunes Music Store is the biggest music retailer in the United States, with a whopping 19% share of the market.
If you had told me as recently as a year ago that the iTunes store would be the top of the music industry, I would’ve called you crazy. Yet, here we are, with the #1 retail source for music, not selling a single piece of physical media.
The shift has arrived. I guess Apple now has all the leverage they need for that rumored subscription model…
