As I’ve said to quite a few friends of mine in real life, I’m thinking after the non-stop blockbuster fest of the Summer of 2008, 2009 will be a summer of sleeper films.

I’m pretty darn sure that Public Enemies will be one of these flicks.

I mean, from the onset of the plot, Johnny Depp as legendary mobster John Dillinger being chased by FBI agent Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale)…how can you go wrong?

The first trailer was attached to Watchmen in March, and while the flick looks awesome, the digitally shot look is somewhat jarring for a 1920’s era piece.

Either way, I’m getting excited for Public Enemies' release on July 1st, and the trio of new posters above certainly is helping.
