Time For Some Classic MTV Animation...ON DVD.
It kinda figures, doesn’t it? As soon as Blu-Ray starts its growth in the world of media, we’re finally getting some of the most requested content on DVD.
In this case, it’s two classic MTV animated series, The Maxx and The Head. These cartoons were part of the popular “MTV Oddities” lineup from the mid 1990s, and as a kid growing up in that era, I hold both shows in high regard.
Now, if either series was actually good, I don’t recall. But it’s beyond awesome they’re coming to DVD, via Amazon’s “CreateSpace” DVD-R program, which gave us classic Nickelodeon series like Doug, and even the first printing of Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog. Honestly, with The State, Doug and now these MTV Oddities series, I’m not sure what classic show from my childhood isn’t available.
Here’s hoping for a Celebrity Deathmatch Retrospective Box Set, I guess.
The Maxx is available for pre-order now for $17.99 The Head can be yours for $24.95. Neither release date has been announced. Yet.
