I know, at this point, the fact that there’s going to be another Ghibli film is kind of an inevitability, given their worldwide appeal, but much like the animated classics coming out of Pixar, I get all glee-filled knowing that they’re coming.

Their newest project, announced earlier this week, is an adaptation of Mary Norton’s series of books titled The Borrowers, about a family of miniature people who live beneath the floorboards.

The film is scheduled for a Summer 2010 release in Japan, and is currently titled The Borrower Arrietty. The official site is located here, and as a non Japanese speaker, I can’t really pull more information than that.

While I’ve yet to see Ghibli’s most recent releases (Ponyo and Tales From Earthsea), I’m still excited to see how The Borrower Arrietty is whenever it hits our shores.
