While there isn't more information than the plan and date, Paramount Pictures has officially announced the release date to the sequel to JJ Abrams' super successful relaunch of the Star Trek franchise.

Set for release on June 29, 2012, Star Trek 2 (or whatever they call it) thus far has yet to have JJ Abrams attached to it, but most if not all of the cast is attached for at least two more films.

So at the least, we’ll get Chris Pine and Zach Quinto helming Star Trek into the possible end of time.
