When I first heard about Megamind, I was kinda worried.

Dreamworks has never been good at following the leader in Pixar (see Antz, for example), and the concept sounded like their take on The Incredibles, although from the villains perspective.

With the first trailer released, however, I have to say - this actually looks fun!

The voice cast is pretty great (Will Farrell, Brad Pitt, Tina Fey), and the animation design looks solid enough (I really love the look of Megamind’s fish headed sidekick).  They even didn’t give away a major plot twist which the official synopsis has!

I’m going to proceed with caution here, but hopefully this is more of a Kung Fu Panda/How to Train A Dragon surprise, and less a Shrek/Madagascar level failure.

We’ll know for sure this November.
