The SCOTT PILGRIM Game Is Made Of DREAMS!
It’s funny, over the 2 years I’ve been running Blast-O-Rama, we’ve gone through phases.
It was all Dark Knight all the time, all Kick-Ass all the time, and now, we’re looking at all Scott Pilgrim all the time.
Hopefully you’ll forgive this transgression, as today the SUPER awesome Scott Pilgrim vs. The World related news is the first hands-on report of the video game, provided by Game Informer.
If you missed the details so far, here’s what we knew: the game was a 2D game with art from Paul Robeson (creator of amazing 8-bit animated films across the web), music by amazing chiptune artists Anamanaguchi, and was being developed by Ubisoft.
Now, we can add even more awesome and exciting details.
- There are multiple playable characters, each with their own movesets. Seen thus far are Scott (obv), Ramona Flowers, Stephen Stills and Kim Pine. More are apparently unlocked in-game.
- Up to four-players can brawl at once.
- It's ostensibly a River City Ransom clone, appropriate if you've ever read the comics.
- The game is inspired more by the comics than the movies, with appropriate 8-bit animated cut scenes, and levels based on the comics (Level 3 takes from Volume 3, Scott Pilgrim & The Infinite Sadness, appropriately.)
- The game is due to hit the PlayStation Network at first in August, with 360 getting it later. How long the exclusivity is has yet to be announced.
