It really goes without saying how much I love the work from the fine folks at Mondo Posters.

The merchandising off-shoot of the amazing Alamo Drafthouse theater company (who now have their own film distribution arm, called Drafthouse Pictures), Mondo has been doing amazing limited run prints of posters for movies for a number of years now, many of which I’ve featured here.

UGO got the opportunity to sit down with Justin Ishmael to discuss his favorite posters put out by the company and to give an idea of the thinking behind the prints.

In addition to being a great read (really, you owe yourself to click the source link), this article also unveils the next print in their stunning Star Wars line.

Pictured at the top of this post, the next print will be “Luke’s Destiny” by Frank Stockton.

Limited to an edition of 360 pieces, this 24x36 print showcases the pivotal moment from Empire Strikes Back where Luke and Darth battle for the first time.

The art is fantastic, with a great sense of perspective, and may be the first I attempt to “fight the crowd” for and buy myself.

If you, like me, are interested in owning this print, be ready - it goes on sale tomorrow, October 28th, and I recommend you follow them on Twitter for the on sale announcement - these prints go fast, and I feel like “Luke’s Destiny” may go the same way.
