Wow, Fox really is trying an all out assault on the nerd news sites this week when it comes to X-Men: First Class.

We get the unofficial release of a cast shot, then an “official” release of that same shot, three more stills, and even a teaser poster.

But not even 24 hours later, the director Matthew Vaughn is giving popular movie news site /Film two exclusive shots of Michael Fassbender as Magneto (at the top of the post, in his sweet 60’s jumpsuit) and James McAvoy as young Professor X (above).

Not only is he sharing images, he’s flipping out about the release of the cast shot.

Says Vaughn…

I freaked out on them yesterday. I don’t know where the hell that came from. I don’t think it’s a Fox image. It’s not a pre-approved image. When I found out, I said, what the fuck is this shit, and Fox is running around trying to figure out what happened as well. I agree. It’s like a bad photoshop, which maybe it was by someone. It didn’t reflect the movie. I was shocked when I saw it. I was like Jesus Christ’…
