As I said in the last post, we need something to get excited about right now.

And while I doubt that it was in ANY way their intent this morning, Paramount’s release of the full length trailer for Super 8 was exactly what the doctor ordered.

You take the feel and tone of a proper, 1980’s Steven Spielberg childhood adventure film, mix it with the modern, mysterious style of writer/director JJ Abrams, and you have the first movie of 2011 where I can honestly say…I have no idea what to expect.

And that excites me.

Did you geek out as hard as I did? Did you feel the goosebumps when, what I assume is the film’s theme started to kick in?

I hate to ride so many hopes on this, but I honestly believe - Super 8 will be a very special movie.

At the least, today, it was just the hint of the movie I needed.
