Here’s the rumor.

You guys remember way back in 2007, when I Am Legend hit theaters, they attached the first 8 minutes or so of The Dark Knight to all IMAX screenings, showcasing the Joker’s bank heist in STUNNING IMAX quality?

Well, this Christmas, Warner Bros is giving us another gift.

Attached to every IMAX print of Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol will be a SIX MINUTE prologue to Christopher Nolan’s much anticipated final Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises.

You hear that? That’s a bunch of midnight tickets sold, including mine. I was looking forward to M:I 4 already - this just is icing on the cake. If this holds true, my thanks are to Paramount and Warner Bros for working together when they don’t really need to. This will be a special night at the movies.

Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol sets IMAX records on December 16th, 2011.
