As the ongoing battle between producing quality films and generating films to create profit hits a fever pitch, 20th Century Fox has decided to dig deep and decide that the world needs yet another Die Hard movie.

Now, before I rant and rave, let me say that I throughly enjoyed Live Free or Die Hard, even if it really obviously failed to pass Baltimore, Maryland off as Washington DC. I’d even go so far as to say that it’s my 3rd favorite Die Hard (Die Hard, Die Hard With a Vengeance, Live Free or Die Hard, and Die Hard 2 bringing up the rear).  However, lets be honest - Bruce Willis is currently 56 years old.

With a projected release date of February 14th, 2013, the Die Hard franchises worst enemy won’t actually be its lead approaching six decades on this Earth, nope, it’s the title.

You ready? Here goes - A Good Day to Die Hard.

Yeah. Pretty awful. That said, if it’s the final Die Hard, it’s an appropriate title for the end. But of course, the head of Fox is rambling about this kickstarting another series, one lead by John McClane’s son, and Willis says he’d be willing to do a sixth film, and it just looks worse and worse from there.

But as always, talk is cheap, so we’ll have to see how it all turns out - after all, Fox rejuvenated both the X-Men and Planet of the Apes franchises this Summer, so maybe they know something I don’t. I guess I’m just bothered that this is making my blu-ray Die Hard collection invalid now.
