I swear, I don’t spend enough time (or money) on the wonderful wares of ThinkGeek.

Besides sponsoring some really cool stuff, ThinkGeek is frequently home to amazing products that people wouldn’t have otherwise thought of, or have long dreamed for.  Products like the iCade and the Tauntaun Sleeping Bag all started with one nerds wish, and they brought them to life.

Now, they’re striking while an iron is extremely warm.  Just 11 days ago, Apple released the new iPhone, the iPhone 4S, a great upgrade on their existing iPhone 4.  As a iPhone 3GS user, I was VERY excited to get my upgrade.  Not just for the speed, graphics and camera upgrades, but for Siri, a significant step up in the world of personal digital assistants.

I’ve used Siri quite a few times since getting my iPhone 4S, and for as amazing as ‘she’ is, I can’t help but think she reminds me of HAL 9000, the sentient AI from the Stanley Kubrick classic, 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Well, what if Siri didn’t just remind you of HAL…but she almost was HAL?

That’s the idea behind ThinkGeek’s latest product, the Iris 9000.

The Iris 9000 allows you to not only interact with your iPhone 4S and Siri from across the room, via remote, but adds a familiar ‘face’ to the device.

The true sci-fi nerds are already salivating over the potential for this one, but unfortunately, Iris 9000 will not be available until April 18th, 2012.  However, it’s going to have a heck of a price, just $60.

I guess the only question left is - are you geek enough?
