I'm not sure what city I'm more jealous of...

Los Angeles, CA; New York, NY or Austin, TX. The first two should be obvious, but Austin, TX is all because of the amazing things coming from my friends and yours at Mondo.

This past weekend they continued their Mondo Mystery Movie series (which gave us the awesome Akira and Jurassic Park posters, amongst others) with a rather unique event. 700 fans were told to arrive at a church in Austin, but this was just something to head them off the trail. At the church were 20 buses. These buses, accompanied by Austin police, were then sent straight to the local Highland Mall. Waiting for them? 200 zombies.

Those zombies then chased the Mondo fans into the mall for their exclusive screening - 1978’s Dawn of the Dead, featuring a live introduction from director George Romero, and of course, a limited run poster, designed by Jeff Proctor (above).

But why am I wasting words? To make the moment last, Mondo has put together a great video showcasing the event, and really, for fans of ANY nerd events, you need to check this out to see the damn scale of the thing.

…I wonder if I could ever dream up something like this…
