One of my favorite writers in all of comics has to be Brian K. Vaughan.

He first grabbed my interest with the amazing, cult classic Marvel book Runaways, about a group of superpowered teens who discovered their parents were all super villains.  Since then, he blew us all away with the fantastic DC/Vertigo book Y: The Last Man, the tale of Yorick, the man left as the last male alive after a bizarre virus hits Earth, and then he went on to greener pastures (i.e. writing a few seasons of Lost and working on some film projects).

It seemed Vaughan was never to write comics again, but then at San Diego Comic Con this past Summer, he arose with a new title to share with us - it will hit shelves this March for Image Comics, and is called simply Saga.

Described as a mixture of Star Wars and Game of Thrones, if fans like myself weren’t already sold, the simple elevator pitch would be sure to have us.  Brian sat down with awesome comics site Comic Book Resources to discuss the title, and after reading their piece, I cannot wait for the first 44 page issue this March. Fiona Staples is the artist along for the ride, and her art looks STELLAR.  This bizarre sci-fi Romeo & Juliet looks like to be a must read next year, and I am chomping at the bit to see issue one. Check out the interview, gang!
