I’m not sure when exactly Danny Trejo’s career was built around breaking the fourth wall, but I certainly can’t complain about it.

Having finally watched Machete over the holiday, I’m quite excited to see any film that has the balls to put him as the lead, and it appears that this year, there will be no film ballsier than Bad Ass.

Yes, that’s its title.  Starring Trejo as a bearded old man who beats the crap out of dudes on a bus and then…uh, goes after more justice? Bad Ass could be this year’s Hobo with a Shotgun. If the trailer wasn’t enough to sell you, c’mon, Ron Pearlman and Charles S. Dutton are in it too!

Bad Ass has not a release date as of yet, but I think we all know that it’s going to rule whenever it comes up. Start shining the Oscars now. Emmys too. And Tonys. And what the hell, a VMA or 3.
