Wes Anderson. Just by saying his name, you should already have an idea of the film. Few filmmakers are that iconic and unique. Of course in some instances, this can also tell you whether or not you’re interested, and I’m going to say that if you’re not - you’re going to want to move on.

Embedded above, that is the first trailer for Anderson’s latest film - Moonrise Kingdom.

His first film since 2009’s The Fantastic Mr. Fox, and first live action film since 2007’s The Darjeeling Limited, this film brings together arguably one of his best ensemble casts ever - Bill Murray, Bruce Willis, Jason Schwartzman and Ed Norton amongst others (shockingly, no Wilsons) and it just looks great.

If you’re looking for the official plotline, here you go:

Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, MOONRISE KINGDOM tells the story of two twelve-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness. As various authorities try to hunt them down, a violent storm is brewing off-shore — and the peaceful island community is turned upside down in more ways than anyone can handle. Bruce Willis plays the local sheriff. Edward Norton is a Khaki Scout troop leader. Bill Murray and Frances McDormand portray the young girl’s parents. The cast also includes Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, and Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward as the boy and girl.
Moonrise Kingdom hits theaters on May 25th, 2012 - I can't wait. This should be an absolute joy.
