I have to admit, when I first heard about The Bourne Legacy, I was very iffy. The Bourne Trilogy was pretty great, Damon was awesome, and it all tied together in a neat bow by the end of The Bourne Ultimatum.

But now here we have the first trailer for the 4th part of the series (or first part of a new series, depending on your perspective) and I am actually pretty intrigued! Since first seeing him in The Hurt Locker, I’ve become pretty fond of Jeremy Renner, and I have no problem seeing him ascend to the next level of stardom on the back of movies like The Avengers and Mission:Impossible - Ghost Protocol. You have him matched up with a master actor like Edward Norton, and you take the plotting of the prior Bourne films (an amnesiac special agent) and ramp up the danger, and you end up with a movie that might just work out.

Sure, this probably could succeed just as well without the Bourne name, but I think under any name, this will end up being another good flick for the stacked Summer 2012 season.
