This is pretty damn cool.

Today, the fine folks at TED, responsible for those amazing and inspring talks, released a rather…unique talk today.

It comes to us from the future, the year 2023 to be exact.  A speech from Peter Weyland, who promises to build the first convincingly humanoid robot by the end of the 2020’s.

If the name doesn’t ring a bell, I’ll cut to the chase - this man goes on to create the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, responsible for the exploration which leads to the Alien films.  That means this video is the next step in marketing Ridley Scott’s next big sci-fi opus, the sorta-prequel to Alien - Prometheus.

I can’t embed the video - yet - but if you’re excited for Prometheus, you’ve gotta check this out via the source link below. Well done, all. Well done.

EDIT: That was fast. Thanks to BadassDigest.com, here’s an embedded version.

EDIT 2: Oh, look, WeylandIndustries.com is an actual site, and they mention a “new round of investment available soon”.  I guess this is the start of a viral game, and considering Prometheus is written by Damon Lindelof of Lost fame, I figure this one will end up pretty great too.
