I suppose Jack White really can’t stay still.

Sure, the White Stripes broke up, but the man has the Raconteurs, the Dead Weather, his solo career (Blunderbuss is a great album, by the way) and his own record label/store to run with Third Man Records…but it looks like Mr. White is going a little Hollywood.

It’s just been announced that Jack White will be writing, composing and performing the score to the uh…interesting looking remake of The Lone Ranger, starring The Social Network’s Arnie Hammer and a dead bird wearing Johnny Depp as Tonto.

Considering I’ve yet to dislike a single bit of Jack White’s musical output, I’m very interested to see how this goes, but really I’d prefer to see Jack back in front of the camera.

I mean, did you see his performance as Elvis in Walk Hard?

The Lone Ranger is set to hit theaters on May 31st, 2013.
