Since he’s become, essentially, the guiding light of comedy in Hollywood, Judd Apatow has taken us to many places with his unique brand of emotion based comedy.

We’ve seen the loss of virginity, coping with birth, dealing with the possibilities of death, and this Christmas, he returns to the couple from Knocked Up played by Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd to take a look at how age can change us in This Is 40.

Over the course of this short trailer, you’d start to think that maybe this is the most mature thing that Judd Apatow has done…and then we get some fun toilet humor at the end.

Minus the use of that damn fun. song, this shows a lot of promise, and I look forward to seeing how the movie develops.

This Is 40 is set to hit theaters on December 21st, 2012
