Ever since I saw Sports Night as a teenager, I’ve been absolutely enamored with the writing of Aaron Sorkin.

I know, people argue regularly about his shows, and whether or not his dialogue is in any way, shape or form natural, but I’ve always been into it.  From Sports Night to The West Wing to the should-have-been-better-than-it-was Studio 60, and the Oscar winning The Social Network, I’ve devoured his work.

So, when I heard that HBO was working on a show created by him, my interest was immediately piqued.  Then the two trailers hit, both of which are stellar.  I’ve embedded them both here. Check them out.

Season 1 Trailer - A Changed Man
Trailer #2
How great does that look, right?  You have an amazing, multi-generational cast anchored (heh) firmly by Jeff Daniels, what seems like a great setup (Sorkin does love to have characters bitch about the state of TV while on TV doesn't he?), and it's on arguably the best channel going today.

For a while there, it looked like HBO had lost the crown of best channel on TV to AMC, but I swear, between Game of Thrones, Girls, Veep and now this, the crown is back in the hands of HBO. I sure hope the series lives up to the potential.

The Newsroom premieres on June 24th, 2012.
