Earlier this year, master standup Louis CK released a new special, Live at the Beacon Theater as a Non-DRM protected video download and stream for just $5. He made over $1 million in the process, totally changing the game for stand up comedians and inspiring others (like Aziz Ansari and Jim Gaffigan) to do the same.

Well, now he’s applying the same process to releasing albums.  On Friday, Louis released a brand new album, titled Word: Live At Carnegie Hall, which was recorded on November 4th, 2010, featuring much material that appeared in the interstitial stand-up routines on his FX show Louie.  You can get a download of that in MP3 or FLAC format for just $5.

Want more? Awesome. He’s also released an audio version of Shameless, his first HBO standup special, also for just $5.

Not enough? Louis has got you covered, as he’s now offering an audio version of Live at the Beacon Theater for all prior purchasers of the video, and yes, even new ones.

In short, I’ve sent the man $10, and I now have 5 great Louis CK albums to call my own (including his previous Chewed Up and Shameless).  I feel like you should do the same. Support independent productions, and laugh your ass off. Send Louis CK your money.

Oh, and if you still want more - the man is doing another AMA on Reddit right now!
