How I’ve never featured Adam WarRock on blast-o-rama before is beyond me.

That said, if you haven’t already listened to him and absolutely fallen in love with his rap skills, you’re falling way behind.  While the simplest way to describe Adam would be a “comic book rapper”, he’s so much more than that.  While his rhymes are ostensibly about comic books, TV shows and so on, he always goes a step farther, creating songs that totally inhabit the worlds he’s rapping about, going beyond just simple references.

His work is an absolute joy to behold, and as his new album You Dare Call That Thing Human?! revealed earlier this year, the man just gets better and better.  His live shows have long been blistering and powerful, but on the new album, it finally comes across on the recordings.  Sure, I’m slightly biased (as he’s appeared with us for Super Art Fight, and will be again at this week’s show), but even if I haven’t had the pleasure of working with him, I’d still be a fan.

That brings me to the reason I’m writing this post - this week, Mr. WarRock dropped a brand spankin' new EP, the Neo-Tokyo EP.

As you might have gathered from the title, this seven track EP is all about Akira, and he absolutely KILLS IT.

You can preview a track from it, “…Is About To Explode” via the YouTube embed below, but if you dig it, I cannot recommend hard enough that you get your ass to BandCamp and drop the $5 for it.

Only Adam really knows what his next release will be, but if they remain of the quality that he’s churning out, there’s no doubt that he will be a part of nerdcore royalty very soon.
