After a very successful surprise return on April 1st, the team at [adult swim] had an announcement which just made the internet VERY happy.

Toonami is coming back.

Toonami, for those who didn’t watch Cartoon Network obsessively at the end of the 90s into the early 2000s, was a block of animated shows mixing 1980’s classics like Thundercats and Voltron with newly imported Japanese animation like Gundam Wing and Cowboy Bebop.

The plan is for Toonami to become a weekly block every Saturday night from 12am-6am, starting on May 26th, 2012.

Unfortunately, as I currently do not have a cable subscription, I will not be able to partake in Toonami’s return, but I’m very excited for it to happen never the less. The shows on Toonami practically defined my teenage years, and I can’t wait for the block to warp a new generation.
