Last week, we had the moody and impressive teaser poster.

This morning, we have the first teaser trailer for Skyfall, the latest installment in the long running James Bond series.

Daniel Craig is back as James Bond, and the continued shift of the series from the Bond of old to something grittier and harder hitting is very much felt here. Check it out.

Awesome, right? I dare say that’s one of the most effective teaser trailers in a bit, the last I recall grabbing me so hard was, coincidentally enough, the David Fincher Girl with the Dragon Tattoo remake.  The cinematography looks absolutely astonishing, and I love that there are just fragments of the story and situation peaked at here.  I realize that’s how teaser trailers are supposed to work, but it’s rare when it actually happens these days.

With Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Road To Perdition) directing, this certainly has the chances of being something great, and as the James Bond reinvention continues here in the 21st century, I can’t wait to see what Skyfall has in store for us.
