Let’s be honest, even with the director of Wanted behind the lens, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter doesn’t have the easiest go this summer.  In a similar fate to Cowboys & Aliens last year, the film doesn’t pass the “makes a crowd laugh at its ridiculousness test”, making many people think the film is a gag.

But, based on a novel, I assure you, it’s very very real. It’s also looking to be the goriest film of the summer, as the new red band trailer demonstrates.

Never thought you’d see Honest Abe kick that much ass, did you?

Sure, the movie sounds ridiculous, but honestly, I think it’s going to turn out alright. Beards, sweet hats, shotgun axes, vampires, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Mary Todd Lincoln?

Yeah, I’m in.
