Since appearing on my radar oh…two weeks ago with their awesome series of Wes Anderson prints, I’ve kept a close eye on the posters coming from the collaboration of curators Spoke Art and the historic Castro Theatre in San Francisco.  Creating eye catching posters for their ongoing midnight movie revival series, they’re starting to make me think of them as a Mondo for the West Coast.  Luckily, since they haven’t quite reached Mondo proportions yet, their poster drops have (thus far) been easy to obtain, and allow fans to get some great art for a great price.

Anyway, following last week’s Robocop poster, tomorrow night, Friday, May 25th, 2012, the series continues with a screening of 1979 cult gang-war classic, The Warriors.  If that wasn’t cool enough, Spoke Art has cooked up not just one, but two new posters for this screening!

The first poster (above) comes from Brandon Schaefer, and it is an 18" x 24" print of the isle of Manhattan, signed and numbered, limited to an edition of 100 prints.  That will run you $40.

The second print comes from Grzegorz Domaradzki, giving me a SERIOUS Tyler Stout vibe (a good thing), which is also an 18" x 24" print, limited to 100 pieces, also $40.

Those who attend the screening tomorrow night get first dibs, and any remainders will be hitting the Spoke Art store early next week.  Probably best to follow their twitter for drop announcements.

My only question? What will they screen and commemorate next? Based on their schedule, I’d love to see a Wet Hot American Summer poster…
