I realize I’ve had a depressing lack of Iron Man 3 coverage here on the blog. I’ll be honest with you, it’s not out of lack of interest on my behalf, it’s mostly because I haven’t begun to get a grasp on the film right now. Nor Thor 2 for that matter.

People are being courted for unnamed roles (see Ben Kingsley as a Villain to be named), really obscure characters are being added to the film, which could ultimately mean everything or nothing to the plot, given how Marvel loves to leave easter eggs in all the movies, and even the plot’s unclear, minus the fact that part of it is taking place in China.

That said, an announcement came through overnight which for fans of the franchise has to be a good bit of news.

Jon Favreau is coming back.

No, no, he’s not directing again, that’s still Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang), Favreau is returning to wear the suit and carry the case as Happy Hogan, Tony Stark’s right hand man.

Given the mention of Happy in The Avengers, I figured we’d be good, but for those who are worried or skeptical, Favreau tweeted this last night:

Yeah, Happy’s back.
