Earlier this evening, I killed some time on the Apple Movie Trailers page.

Normally, I’m pretty on the ball about upcoming movies, but there were two trailers I missed for movies that now, I am pretty damn excited for.

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World is a unique looking dramatic romantic comedy starring Steve Carell and Keira Knightley, amongst others (including Patton Oswalt). The idea is simple - the world is about to end, so Carell and Knightley, neighbors, decide to help each other on their final wishes on this plane - Carell to find a long lost love, Knightley to be reunited with her family.  From the trailer it appears to be a darker road comedy with a lot of heart, and now I’m very excited to see it.

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World is set to hit theaters on June 22nd, 2012.

Indie Game: The Movie is definitely something that you would assume that I would already know about. A Canadian documentary looking into the victories, difficulties, struggles and losses in the world of independent video game development, this has been shown (and won awards) at Sundance, and looks simply sublime.

With a soundtrack by Jim Guthrie (who’s work was featured in the amazing iOS game Sword & Sworcery), you go behind the scenes in the creation of Braid, Fez and Super Meat Boy.

Indie Game: The Movie will be available for download here on June 12th, 2012, or you can pre-order the DVD or Blu-Ray here.
