As featured earlier this week, Injustice: Gods Among Us is a brand new 3D fighter coming from the Mortal Kombat team featuring the DC Universe battling one on one.

Just a few days after showcasing the reveal trailer, Injustice.com has updated to include a gallery of screenshots, which makes it pretty clear that this one on one fighter is built upon the engine of last year’s Mortal Kombat reboot, and that yes, these are more extreme versions of the DC New 52 costumes.

While my buddy Jamie seems to think that the gameplay might get hung up on the “real” versions of each character’s powers and ability, I can’t help but feel that all of the finishing moves will appropriately feature each character at their most overpowered and ridiculous.

Injustice: Gods Among Us will be showcased at E3 this week, and will release for the XBox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U.
