Over the past year, I’ve become a big fan of Etsy. Allowing artists to sell handmade goods directly to possible customers, some of the coolest, one-of-a-kind work is currently stocked on the sites virtual shelves. Almost everything you can think of is available there, and no one else will have the exact same one you do. As a recurring feature here on blast-o-rama I’ll feature whatever I pick up, whenever I pick it up.

In my ongoing experiment towards becoming an adult (which has included such things as signing up for my 401k and working towards a lower car payment/insurance payment), I had decided it was time to get an actual business card holder.  No longer would I give out my card straight from the box provided to me from the printers! It was time to be somewhat official.

Of course, I didn’t just want any generic business card holder, I wanted something fun and great, so I directed my interest straight towards Etsy.  This lead to many many different options, but after a few other keywords, I found the works of Etsy user DreadedPirateRoberts.

Dreaded Pirate Roberts specializes in tins and business card holders (amongst other products) featuring up cycled pop art and other designs, mostly in a nerdy vein.  With Avengers-mania stirring in my head, the business card holder featuring the cover of the 1963 first issue of the comic spoke directly to me.

I ordered the case on the 21st, and just a few short days later, I had my case.  As you can see, it’s your standard business card case, but the quality of the print is fantastic and is resined directly onto the case.  My business cards (for Super Art Fight) fit perfectly, and I don’t feel like too much of a boring adult when I give them out.

What really impressed me, however, was how DreadedPirateRoberts went the extra mile (in fact, it’s what inspired me to write this post). The packaging it was shipped in was full of crepe paper to insure everything was safe and secure, and the case itself came in a cloth bag.

If that wasn’t enough, he included some bonus magnets, featuring the Captain America shield, Captain America himself and the classic cover of Fantastic Four #1.

If you’re in the need for a great yet nerdy business card case, I can’t push you in a better direction.

The Avengers Business Card Case cost $15 and was from the shop of DreadedPirateRoberts.
