Last week we had the first poster, and in proper promotional order, we now have the first trailer for the new version of one of the UK’s favorite comic heroes - Dredd.

Decidedly less corny than the 90’s Stallone film and with the always awesome Karl Urban in the lead role, the trailer sure does make it seem like it’s stealing the exact plot from The Raid (the awesome Indonesian film you probably missed in theaters, but hey, you’ll see it on DVD, right?), but for 2000 A.D. fans, it sure appears to be hitting all of the right notes.

It’s good to see Olivia Thirlby getting more work, and is it just me, or post-Game of Thrones, does Lena Headey have the market cornered on “evil bitch”?

Dredd is set to hit theaters on September 21st, 2012. Something tells me we will see an awesome red-band trailer before then.
