Hiya folks, Marty here.

Since I first launched blast-o-rama in February 2008, this site quickly changed from just a general blog.

Over 1500 posts later, it’s become a time capsule of my obsessions - a catalog of everything I enjoy, was looking forward to enjoying and even looking back at things I had enjoyed. And what’s more, I got to share it with you.

Apparently, some of you liked it. Site hits are at an all time high. Advertising revenue is actually slightly more than my monthly costs to host the thing. And you’re sharing it out.

In turn, I think it’s time to grow this thing.

So much so, I have a mission statement for blast-o-rama.

I want blast-o-rama to be a positive place for you to nerd out. Something to stand out from the cynicism of the web.  Sure, when things are bad, we’ll tell you with our reviews. And if something seems fishy, we’ll make it known - but in the face of an internet where people line up to be the first to reject something, I want this site to be where you can read about movies, comics, art, food, places and things - and getreally excited for them.

…but I can’t do it alone.

I’m looking for at least 1-2 new voices to start contributing here on the site. To cover the news I’m missing. To report the things that will surprise even me (and I spend a LOT of time on Google Reader!). I want to grow this into a site that not just hundreds are reading, let’s take it to the thousands. (Or, heaven forbid, millions?)

So, I turn to you, dear friends and readers. I want you to apply to become part of the team here at blast-o-rama.

Here’s what you need to do. Send me an email at marty at blast-o-rama dot com.

Give me some general information about you, where you’re from, your age, what you’re into, what you get excited about. What are the nerdy things you enjoy? Sure, I focus on movies, comics and games here, but maybe there’s even more you can shine a light upon.

But more importantly - I need to see how you can write. I like to think I’ve established a “style” here, and I’d want you to follow some of it, but that can be taught. I want to see posts you’ve done elsewhere, or what the hell, write up a sample post or two if you don’t have anything ready.

Right now, there’s no money in this. But if we grow this right, I’m not going to run away with the dough. This will be yours too.

Lets make something great on the internet.
