I’ve been keeping tabs on the Drafthouse movie screening series called the Summer of ‘82 since it was first announced, and last night was possibly one of the most anticipated screenings.

Celebrating arguably the greatest summer for movies of all time, fans have already seen screenings of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Rocky III and Conan the Barbarian amongst others, and last night was a true classic - John Carpenter’s The Thing.

Of course, each screening has been backed up with a new poster release from Mondo, and last night was no exception - and it certainly wound up with one of the best.

Mondo has teamed with original poster artist Drew Struzan to create a limited run screen print of the iconic image from the original film poster.  This is Mondo’s second project with the legendary poster artist (after last year’s amazing Frankenstein print), and understandably, it’s a much anticipated release for poster hounds across the web.

This 26"x38" print was limited to a run of 440 copies for a price of $250, with a glow in the dark variant being limited to a run of 150, costing $350.  No word on how many copies remain after the screening, but if there are any, you should keep an eye on Mondo’s website and Twitter for online release details.
