A New Movie Poster Challenger Arrives...On Kickstarter?
With the ongoing growth of the Mondo poster empire, it should come as little surprise that other companies are forming to take advantage of the flourishing interest in high quality art posters for cult movies.
Up until now, most of these poster companies are 1-2 people operations. Â However, I think this is the first instance of a company trying to build out on the road laid down by Mondo, and they’re looking to get everything funded via Kickstarter.
DzXtinKt Originals is a Baltimore-based company which isn’t just looking to make beautiful posters for great films, they’re also looking to get the official licenses from each studio.
They’re aiming to raise the funds on Kickstarter to produce their first two releases, celebrating the movies Drive and Insidious respectively.
The Drive poster is by artist Grzegorz Domaradzki, and is a 24"x36" print in both standard and variant formats. The variant (now sold out) was limited to a run of 20, and the standard edition is limited to a run of 270, with 258 available at the time of this writing.
The poster for Insidious is also a 24"x36" print by Jordan Debney, and is limited to a run of 295 (with 292 still available at the time of this writing).
As of now, they’re about 1/5th of the way toward their goal with poster packages starting at $60. I’d really love to see these posters get made, and another great company pop up (especially in my backyard), so hopefully this piques your interest. Check it out, and if you dig it - support it!
