Over the past few Summers, the counter-culture animated network [adult swim] has joined forces with a sponsor (in this case, carmakers Kia…OK.) to create a series of downloadable singles every summer.

For Summer 2012, they’ve reached out to a local favorite, and who I feel is one of the best bands going today - Wye Oak.

The Baltimore duo have contributed a brand new song, called “Spiral”, and it’s really unlike anything sonically they’ve presented before - however, it’s awesome.

Sounding much like lead singer Jenn Wasner’s solo project Flock of Dimes, the song takes you on quite the sonic journey, and is already one of my favorite tracks of the year. Maybe you’ll like it too.
