Much like its fellow Warner Bros film, Pacific Rim, The Hobbit will mark it’s SDCC 2012 appearance with a brand new, exclusive poster.

It’s an understated image, which just hints at what you really need to know - Gandalf is back, and the adventure is on again.

However, if you’re more of a hardcore Tolken fan, another new image hit the web today, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly.

This “scroll”, depicts 10 separate scenes from the forthcoming Lord of the Rings prequel, and is certainly one of the more interesting marketing images of any film I’ve ever seen. Of course, I recommend you view the full resolution version to check out all of the details.

Now all we can do is hope that the movie in action lives up to the beauty of the stills.
