With SDCC 2012 officially kicking off with Preview Night tonight in San Diego, the mainstream press is setting sail with many stories all about the convention.

This, understandably, leads to more exclusive content. Like what we’re posting now - USA Today has released an article about the convention. In it, you’ll find includes many details (and a new image, above) on Pacific Rim, the monsters vs. robots flick we’re hotly anticipating.

We finally get an idea of the mix of monsters, described as such…

Some are adept at swimming in the depths of the sea, others fly, and one even vomits corrosive magma-like liquid.

"It is almost like seeing a tornado clashing with a hurricane," del Toro says.
Astonishingly, no F-bombs! Pacific Rim gets revealed during the Warner Bros. panel on Saturday, with the film being released on July 12th, 2013.
