After basically redefining the modern superhero game with Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, you’d expect video game developers Rocksteady to take a nice long vacation from the world of Batman.

And you’d be right…if you meant a time vacation!

According to a report from Variety (and confirmed by Kotaku), Rocksteady is in the early stages of developing a new game in their award winning Batman series, but the game will be a prequel to the Arkham games based more on the 1950’s Silver Age of the Dark Knight. Furthermore, the game is supposed to feature appearances from the entire Justice League, introducing many of DC’s finest heroes to the most polished superhero series in gaming.

Sounds exciting, right? Well, don’t hold your breath for it’s release - it’s not set to come out before 2014…at the earliest.
