Confirming one of the worst kept secrets in the nerd world of Hollywood, 20th Century Fox has officially announced the Fantastic Four reboot.

This restart of the Marvel Comics film franchise will be directed by Josh Trank, who made a splash at the beginning of this year with the sublime found-footage superhero film Chronicle.

It’s a bold and innovative choice by Fox, and considering how well he balanced super heroics and drama with a small budget on Chronicle, I feel like Trank will do a great job with Marvel’s first family.

Fantastic Four is yet to have a cast or release date set.
