Over the past few years, I’ve sat back and watched the infomercials for the annual ICP fan convention/outdoor concert Gathering of the Juggalos with an ironic enjoyment.  Surreal mixtures of D-list talent, pro-wrestling legends and ridiculous events (HELICOPTER RIDES, YOU GUYS), it’s been hard to not watch them. They’ve been train wrecks, and each year, they seem to make them less like commercials and more like epic sales pitches.

That continues this year, with a twenty three minute video which is set in the zombie-apocalypse (The Walking Dead much, ICP?).  You can watch it below.

That said…this year sounds…kinda…sorta…non-ironically awesome?

Take away the fact that the tickets are ridiculously priced, and you have to spend a long weekend in the middle of the woods with perhaps the worst people in all of humanity.

It’s a weekend soundtracked with rap legends like DMX, Biz Markie, Raekwon, Warren G and GEORGE F’N CLINTON.  You have the late 90’s-early 2000’s nu-metal throwbacks which soundtracked the radio stations of my teenage years like POD, Static-X and (Hed) PE. And then you have Ric Friggin' Flair appearing?

That sounds like an awesome as hell weekend. Shame those idiots with the face paint are in the way.

Should you be made of stronger stuff than me, The Gathering of the Juggalos 2012 runs August 8th through 12th in Cave-In-Rock, Illinois.
