OK, the headline of this post kinda seems like a no-brainer, given that ABC and Marvel Studios are both owned by Disney, Disney’s trying to get the most out of their investment in the comic book world, and since ABC flirted with a Guillermo Del Toro produced Hulk series.

That said, according to the fine folks at Deadline, ABC and Marvel are discussing a way to take advantage of the popularity of this summer’s The Avengers and transporting it to a TV show.

Details are very limited, especially given that talks have just officially begun, but I’d like to give my two cents, no-brainer idea.

How about a weekly series all about the things going on at S.H.I.E.L.D.?

You can work in obscure characters, vaguely reference the big guns (or future movies - SYNERGY!) in throwaway dialogue, and have a fun, superhero-y version of The X-Files every week. It practically writes itself.

Especially if they decide to bring the guy behind the Memos From Fury tumblr into the writing room. Who doesn’t want to see these notes come to life?
