As DC’s New 52 enters its second year (and more importantly, DC wishes to retain the new readers which the New 52 grabbed), it should come as no surprise that they’re going straight for the mainstream headlines.

And the mainstream they have indeed impacted, with the reveal of the cover and story of tomorrow’s Justice League #12. Written by Geoff Johns and drawn by Jim Lee, this latest issue of the big name superhero team series draws the eyes with its cover, indicating that after decades of pussyfootin' around it (and honestly, most of the real world thinking it’s already happened), Superman and Wonder Woman will be shacking up.

In a story exclusive to Entertainment Weekly (EW, like DC Comics, is owned by Time Warner. Huh.), Johns reveals that this issue will feature the pair hooking up. And uh. Not much else. I know! Why bother sharing the plot reasons for this duo to get together, let alone lose their pre-New 52 love interests (Lois Lane and Steve Trevor).  I always thought the love interests were unique for each character, as Lois showed how much Superman really cared about humans, and the Steve Trevor thing was some weird male/amazon/human/God fantasy.  But hey, why focus on interesting stuff like that when you can just have superpeople super get it on.

And in is what is NOT AT ALL tasteless marketing, Superman and Wonder Woman now have Match.com profiles. Really. Check them out. Here’s Kal-El, here’s Diana.

Either way, if you want to read it, check your local comic store and Comixology tomorrow. I’m sure there’s a good reason why they’ll be banging.
