Depending on your opinions on the respective franchises, Angry Birds Star Wars is either a smart mixing of two beloved properties or a prime example of corporate synergy gone terribly awry, but either way, it’s real, it’s announced, and it’s coming for, iOS, Android, Amazon Kindle Fire, Mac, PC, Windows Phone and Windows 8 on November 8th.

Alongside the Rovio produced game will be (naturally) an entire selection of games and toys designed and released by Hasbro. The games all fall under Hasbro’s Jenga line, and involve various ways of taking the rage filled birds (now dressed as Star Wars characters) and tossing them at structures filled with the Empire-clothed pigs. They even have a Koosh slingshot! There’s certainly some self aware marketing in play (I think “Early Bird” figure set is very clever), and honestly, I think kids are going to have a lot of fun with these toys.

Do we really need more Angry Birds and Star Wars stuff on the shelves? Probably not - but if kids like the toys, and if the game remains as fun as Angry Birds Space was, I think this will be another license to print money come this November.  …even if the Angry Birds Star Wars DLC on every box gives me major pause.

You can view the full gallery of toys below - no gameplay footage has been released yet, sadly.
