One of my favorite reads of the past few years is John Dies At The End. A surreal horror comedy, it’s the tale of two smartasses who find themselves in the mix of a bizarre interdimentional mystery after taking a drug called “Soy Sauce”. I read it almost exactly two years ago, and this past week, the sequel, This Book Is Full Of Spiders hit the shelves.

In a movement which is just as important to John Dies At The End fans, and the illiterate, the movie adaptation is finally looking toward release, having been picked up by Magnet with an On-Demand premiere now set for December 27th, 2012 and a small theater roll-out to follow.

To celebrate this announcement, they released the first poster for the movie this morning, and interestingly enough, it’s a bright yellow punch to the face, going for a 1970’s poster feel, with small vignettes from the film filling every corner.  All and all, I like it! Now here’s hoping the film lives up to the book.
