One of 2011’s best films, the serene and thoughtful yet brutally violent Drive will most likely not be receiving a sequel.  Yes, a sequel novel hit in April, titled Driven, but for director Nicolas Winding Refn and actor Ryan Gossling, Drive is all they will be saying about the enigmatic Driver.

However - what if he were to appear in other movies?  Sayeth Refn to The Citizen:

...the character of the driver might return in another film. We're playing with that idea. We'll see what happens.
So, we won't see a proper Drive 2, but he could pop up elsewhere? How about in Expendables 3? Or as a new member of S.H.I.E.L.D. in The Avengers 2? Wait! I got it! Have The Driver be the catalyst for a modern day version of The Cannonball Run!

Now just to get author James Sallis to write off on it all…
