With the dust from New York Comic Con settling, it should come as no surprise that some Marvel Studios news has come out of the convention - what that news is, however, may be a surprise.

During a panel on the next phase of Marvel Entertainment’s TV projects, Jeph Loeb officially announced that Clark Gregg will return as Agent Phil Coulson in the pilot of ABC’s S.H.I.E.L.D. series.

Yes. Coulson, who we all saw die in The Avengers will return for the TV series. How will that work? Not really sure, but I think we all knew that dastardly Joss Whedon would have something under his sleeve.

In further Marvel Studios news, Disney announced some updates today on the forthcoming film slate.  On the bad side of things, Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World will be post-converted from 2D to 3D. In better news, however, Edgar Wright’s Ant Man is officially dated for November 6th, 2015.
