Promised with yesterday’s teaser trailer teaser (not a typo!), Marvel Studios has released the first official trailer for Iron Man 3.  Here it is.

As you can see, this time around, the times are tough for Tony Stark, facing adversity from The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley), scientist Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) and I think even his own armor?

It’s amazing how different the tone is for this installment, even from just two minutes of footage. I suppose Tony Stark has been the wise-ass hero in his suit of armor for far too long - now, he has to pay the price. I have to admit, the 3rd movie is rarely the best, but this is a pretty damn effective trailer. Plus, you know, it’s technically the 7th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Saga.

Marvel's "Iron Man 3" pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy's hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?
